From June 11 to 14, 2025, a delegation of senior executives from a global Indian enterprise paid a second visit to Hunan Zenpon Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. for a four-day inspection and exchange. This visit follows the client’s first visit in August 2024, during which a cooperative relationship was established. The primary goal of this second visit is to further advance bilateral collaboration in the hydrogen fuel cell sector.

During the initial visit in 2024, the client conducted a comprehensive and professional evaluation of Zenpon and subsequently purchased two metal bipolar plate fuel cell stack models—ZBQ-C01 (active area: 280 cm²) and ZBQ-B01 (active area: 360 cm²). After follow-up testing, the client reported that the stacks demonstrated excellent performance and stable operation. Based on these positive results, the client officially launched its proprietary Metal Bipolar Plate (MBP) project at Zenpon in early 2025, which is now undergoing production validation.

The recent delegation was led by Vice President Tejas and Fuel Cell Project Director Sachin, accompanied by senior management and key technical personnel. Their agenda focused on two main objectives: first, to conduct on-site verification of the performance of the customized metal bipolar plates developed by Zenpon; and second, to hold in-depth discussions on future cooperation in fuel cell systems and air-cooled stacks.

With Zenpon’s technical support, the client assembled a short stack consisting of 10 single cells using their metal bipolar plates and Zenpon’s in-house developed Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEAs). The stack was then tested for air-tightness and performance. Test results confirmed excellent sealing with no leakage, and after 4 hours of continuous operation, the stack maintained stable performance, meeting all expected client benchmarks.

On June 14, the client also visited Zenpon’s jointly developed hydrogen fuel cell bus project with Geely Commercial Vehicles, expressing high praise for Zenpon’s technical capabilities in system integration and development.

During a meeting with Zenpon’s Chairman, the client extended a warm invitation for Zenpon Hydrogen to establish a production base in India. They offered site support, proposing that Zenpon only needs to invest in equipment for metal bipolar plate production. The collaboration would leverage Zenpon’s technical expertise in this field and combine it with the client’s MEA products to jointly develop high-efficiency fuel cell stacks and systems tailored to the Indian market—achieving localized manufacturing and sales. This move would not only bring Zenpon closer to the Indian market but also help circumvent trade barriers such as BIS certification for Chinese exports to India.

This visit marks a significant milestone in the deepening partnership between both sides, laying a solid foundation for Zenpon’s international expansion and technological export. It also signifies Zenpon’s growing role in the global fuel cell industry. We look forward to working hand-in-hand with our partners to drive the development of clean energy technologies and contribute to global carbon neutrality goals.
